Never been a better time to explore closer to home, why not book a staycation in East Sussex

By

Well, how is everyone? Looking forward to the possibility that we may be able to travel and stay away from home as the UK lockdown measures ease.

We have been very busy behind the scenes planning the hopeful reopening of our holiday properties for our guests. We have been putting measures in place so that everyone can have a much needed, safe retreat and change of scenery. This does mean some of the usual benefits our holiday properties benefit from have had to be reduced, eg no board games and books but we feel this is just a temporary measure until we all have a better understanding of Covid 19. Where we can, it's business as usual if there is such a thing anymore.

All our properties are being prepared using the guidance from Public Health England and The World Health Organisation, so please rest assured we are doing our best to be ready for what we hope will be a surge in UK guests at our hand-picked holiday accommodation. A staycation has never been more alluring and a good chance to enjoy what the county of East Sussex has to offer.

What are you looking forward to the most?

Is it lazy beach days, paddling in the shallows, sandcastle competitions, sandy sandwiches?

Visiting some of our beautiful stately homes & gardens, so much choice here in 1066 Country?

Walking our country trails and taking in the clifftop walks through Hastings Country Park or watching the fishing fleet return to Harbour from Rye Harbour Nature Reserve?

BBQ’s with loved ones in pretty, new surroundings with local produce available from the many farm shops, fish stalls and delis dotted throughout our towns?

Wandering the pretty streets of medieval Rye and overdosing on history and enjoying an ice cream from Mermaid Street cafe or a chocolate milkshake from Knoops? (Highly recommend both)

So many things to be grateful for and to look forward to. We know we can’t wait to visit our sons in Brighton and Hove and share quality time together, facetime just isn’t the same is it? We plan to visit local places that have been on our wish list for ages but we have put off, as close to home, now seems like the perfect time to enjoy what is on our doorstep.

If you have booked a stay with us already and would like local recommendations please do not hesitate to get in touch, we are always willing and ready to share the love.

So, as lockdown eases and we have the chance to plan, take a moment to think about supporting local, vacating in the UK and consider the difference we can make to the environment by reducing our air miles, a staycation at a holiday cottage in the UK has never been so inviting.
